Suañé Reserva Rosado

750 ml | 0 € / 1 l
Disponible

The friendship between two families led them to make their own wine and surprise with its character and originality, but without forgetting the origin of their grapes, the most western Rioja in the foothills of Obarenes Mountains. With this premise, Suañé Rosado Reserva 2018 is born, with 50% Viura, 30% Garnacha Tinta and 20% Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Suañé comes from the phonetic transformation of the French word ‘soigne‘ which means refined, delicate, careful, cared for… like this wine is.

It has a pale pink colour with touches of onion skin. After breathing in the glass, red fruits (ripe strawberry), rose petals and dried fruits appear.

On the palate, it is fresh, very fruity and tasty. It shows a refreshing acidity and a good structure, full-bodied and ample.

Recommended serving temperature is 10-12ºC.

Vineyards and elaboration

Vineyards are a blend of three plots in the Montes Obarenes. The Viura comes from a vineyard on clay-limestone soils in Villalba de Rioja. The Garnacha from sandy soils in Haro and the Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Finca de la Cala winery in Villalba.

Grapes are gently destemmed without crushing, fermented and macerated with their skins for 12 days in concrete tanks without any kind of correction.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts. Skins are gently pressed, racked in a vertical press and transferred to French oak barrels. After 13 months of ageing and stirring the lees weekly until transfering, the wine is refined and decanted for 4 months in its own lees to facilitate spontaneous clarification. A light filtration is carried out prior to bottling to separate the lees.

This is a minimal intervention wine with a slight sulphur at the end of alcoholic fermentation and before bottling.

Winery

The winery is the union of two families who started the project in 2011. Their first harvest was in 2013. They are the first generation of the family to work on vineyard cultivation and winemaking. Their motto is respecting and minimal intervening in cultivation and winemaking techniques.
