Recipe: Turmeric Latte

Turmeric is a deep yellow spice that is commonly used in cooking, especially Indian cooking. It is extracted from the root of the Curcuma longa plant, which is native to South Asia. 

Turmeric has benefits that include reducing inflammation, relieving joint pain, improving cognitive function, and preventing chronic diseases like diabetes and cancer. Even properties for the skin are also attributed to it. 

It is perfect for adding to a wide variety of dishes, including curries, rice dishes and soups, as well as drinks such as turmeric latte.

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, black pepper, and star anise.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly so it doesn't burn. Let the milk boil for a minute and then lower the heat and allow the mixture to heat up for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the mixture to remove the star anise and any clumps of turmeric.

Serve your turmeric latte hot and decorate with some cinnamon and star anise and enjoy its delicious flavor and all its health benefits.
