Bee Pollen

Did you know that bee pollen is an excellent source of protein? It has more amino acids than milk, cheese, meat and eggs. It is low in fat and sodium and it is a great source of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. All in all, it is a great natural food supplement!

How is pollen obtained?

Pollen comes from the dust that bees collect from flowers with their legs and bring back to the hive. This dust is made up of the plants' male reproductive cells.

Beekeepers place a mechanism at the beehive entrance that collects the dust from the legs of the incoming bees. These granules are gathered and from them comes the dry pollen that we consume, which is why it has such a high concentration of nutrients.
