Vineyard and elaboration
Vineyards are located in the Rías Baixas, in Valle del Salnés sub-area. Grapes come from three smallholdings: the first is from 1912 located in Paliña; the second plot is 40 years old and is located in Dena; and the third has had vineyards since 1972 in Meaño. The soils are granite and schist.
67% of the wine aged in 1,000-litre foudre, while the rest remained in stainless steel tanks.
The Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico winery was founded in 2002 with the union of two families that had been producing wine independently throughout Spain since the late 1800s.
They make their wines from a careful selection of raw materials, native varieties, old vines in high-altitude vineyards or soils of balanced performance so as to obtain high quality wines.
