Vineyard and elaboration
This 1.5 hectare-long vineyard faces East and is 350 to 450 metres above sea level. Listán Negro grapes are harvested there, which are between 80 and 150 years old, following the braided-cordon method. The soil is formed by a layer of clay over volcanic rock, giving as a result a wine that subtly combines minerality and fruitiness.
Alcoholic fermentation is made in uncoated concrete vessels with 50% whole bunches. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in 45-hectolitre fudre and 500-litre barrels.
Bodega Suertes del Marqués
Suertes del Marqués is a family winery where wines first began to be prepared in 2006. Twenty years earlier, they started off as viticulturists selling their grapes to another winery of the Valle de La Orotava Designation.
Keeping respect for tradition in mind, as the winery's ethic commands, in Suertes del Marqués they work with native yeasts, avoiding transfering and using small quantities of sulfurous.
Every process is handmade, from working in the vineyard to harvesting. In the vineyard they avoid systemic treatments and only use natural products when diseases appear.
