Vineyards and elaboration
This wine comes from old vineyards in Valbuena de Duero, Mucientes and Pedrosa del Rey planted between 1941 and 1955 and located in Valladolid, Castilla y León. The soils are sandy, limestone and gypsiferous gredas, resting on clay and marl.
Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous and at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Part of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and the rest in barrels. After fermentation, the wine ages for 11 months in 225 and 500-litre used French oak barrels. The wine ages in bottles for at least 9 months.
Prieto Pariente Winery
This winery is led by the third generation of the family with the complicity, support and experience of the second generation.
The core of this project is something as old as viticulture in their land, expressing the origin through the search and selection of the oldest vineyards in the region. They firmly believe in sustainable viticulture and respect for the roots.
Difference, territory and selection define Bodegas Prieto Pariente’s project. They are identified with names of places such as Castilla y León, Valladolid, the moors of Meseta Norte and the mineral slopes that close the region at its edges: Cebreros and Cierzo.
Their goal is to create wines with their own unique personality, providing a distinctive character, a fresh and complex profile.
