Vineyard and elaboration
The vineyard is hardly 0.8 hectares-long, 450 to 550 metres above sea level and it is located facing North. They harvest Listán Negro grapes that are about eighty years old, following the braided-cordon method. The soil is mainly formed by volcanic rock, combined with a clay sandy soil, depending on the altitude.
Alcoholic fermentation is made in uncoated concrete vessels with 100% whole bunches. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in 500-litre barrels.
Bodega Suertes del Marqués
Suertes del Marqués is a family winery where wines first began to be prepared in 2006. Twenty years earlier, they started off as viticulturists selling their grapes to another winery of the Valle de La Orotava Designation.
Keeping respect for tradition in mind, as the winery's ethic commands, in Suertes del Marqués they work with native yeasts, avoiding transfering and using small quantities of sulfurous.
Every process is handmade, from working in the vineyard to harvesting. In the vineyard they avoid systemic treatments and only use natural products when diseases appear.
