Vineyards and elaboration
The grapes come from organic vineyards at 750 to 850 metres above sea level in La Seca (Valladolid) and Aldeanueva del Codonal (Segovia). It has siliceous sandy and pebbly soil, with a subsoil layer of clay and limestone in its deepest layers.
Vinification is based on direct pressing with natural decanting. It ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Barco del Corneta is the result of Beatriz Herranz’s personal and professional experience after years linked to the world of vineyards and wine.
Barco del Corneta is an artisan winery committed to recovering the essence of Verdejo, respecting the identity of the grape variety, the soil and the climate. From the 2014 vintage, Barco del Corneta and Cucú have grown in production and two new wines have appeared: a Verdejo from old vines, from centenary vines, and a red wine from Arribes del Duero, mainly made with the native variety Juan García.
