Vineyards and elaboration
The vineyard is made up of a selection of old vines from five 30-year-old plots, mainly of the Monastrell variety (95%). The soils are sandy loam and covered with limestone.
Regarding vinification, partially destemmed bunches ferment with indigenous yeasts in underground cement tanks where they age. Afterwards, they remain in 5,000-litre oak vats for a year.
This winery’s wines are nowadays among the most prestigious in the whole DO Jumilla and are exported to many countries. Their quality is mainly due to the aridity of the area, which favours a range of concentrated and intense wines, with fresh, rich fruity aromas and, in short, made with the essence of the Mediterranean sea.
