Vineyard and elaboration
The vineyards come from eight different towns: Gratallops, Porrera, Torroja, Les Vilelles, Bellmunt, El Molar, El Lloar and Poboleda.
This is an area with steep slopes and terraces with different levels of exposure located at between 350 and 700 metres above sea level. The vines are between 12 and 40 years old.
The soil is made of slate with a laminar vertical and oblique structure.
Regarding elaboration, the grapes are 100% destemmed and gently crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in cement and wood vats, with a maceration period of 20 to 30 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wooden vats. Stirring is done.
Winery
Álvaro Palacios, son of Riojan winemakers, has a philosophy and personality closely linked to spirituality, culture and tradition. He arrived in Gratallops in 1989, attracted by the ancestral and mystical landscape of vine cultivation in an environment of centenary vines hanging from impossible slate slopes.
