Atlántida is a red wine that comes from Bodega de Vinos del Atlántico winery, located in Puerto de Santa María, with the oenologist Alberto Orte's interpretation. Vineyards are located in Pago de Balbaina, where the famous wines of Jerez come from. It is a single-variety Tintilla, very unique, which expresses the terroir from where it comes.

It is dark cherry red in colour, almost black. On the nose it has fruity aromas, berries, floral aromas, especially violets, and hints of spices. On the mouth it is elegant, smooth, with hints of ageing, well-integrated wood and oak. It is a structured wine, with toasted and spicy touches, good acidity and a long finish.

It pairs very well with meat stews, grilled meats and cured cheese.

Recommended serving temperature is between 16 and 18ºC.

Vineyard and elaboration

The vineyard is worked organically, without chemicals or systemic products and a less common viticulture in the Jerez area. Then it finishes with 5 more months of fermentation in stainless steel tanks, to get stabilisation and refinement.

Winery

The Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico winery was founded in 2002 to continue the family winemaking tradition of Alberto Orte (pioneer in recovering this variety) and Patrick Mata, its founders. Both families have been producing wine independently throughout Spain since the late 1800s.

Today, they produce wine in 18 different designations within the Iberian Peninsula.

Their main aim is to produce handcrafted wines that express the identity of their place of origin.
