Vineyard and elaboration
This wine is made with Garnacha grapes from different smallholdings: Dehesa, Vista Alegre, Manzanillo and Marañones. The soil is highly weathered granite with a sandy texture. They are frsh, deep and rich in organic materials. Harvesting is done manually and the vineyard is organic, and is 30 and 70 years old. Pre-fermentative maceration is a cold process and fermentation takes place in wooden barrels of 3,000 to 4,500 litres and in stainless steel tanks. The yeast is native and the grapes are stirred. 90% of the grapes are whole grapes and 10% of the grapes are destemmed. Malolactic fermentation is natural.
Bodega Marañones is the ultimate expression of natural elegance, without artifice. A microclimate within the Vinos de Madrid DO, old vineyards of native varieties (mainly Garnacha and Albillo Real) and a visionary and talented oenologist who knows how to interpret them (Fernando García Alonso, co-founder of Comando G) are the quintessence of this winery that strives to rescue vineyards and varieties completely understanding their environment to produce fresh, delicate and elegant wines. Unique height wines with identity.
